MQM ( Motor Quality Monitor ) - The System

The System

The MQM test system utilizes the principles of model-based fault detection and system identification to assess the quality of electric motors under production conditions, determining any faults that have occurred in the course of production.

Model-based fault detection relies on the comparison of the outputs of a system with the outputs of the model of the system for the same inputs.

A “Master Set” of a “Virtual Good” motor model is constructed and each motor under test is compared with the response of this Master Set.

If an individual motor model deviates from the master exceeding pre-specified thresholds, the motor is deemed faulty.

MQM has the capability of estimating performance curves by providing statistical data relevant to production and displaying a system of parameters calculated from measurements of individual motors under no-load conditions.

MQM accurately filters out faulty motors and provides direct feedback to manufacturing about root causes of faults in the production process.

MQM allows the monitoring of production within an objective framework where motors not conforming to the properties of the “ideal” motor are detected and caught before the product leaves the factory.

Performance curves under loaded conditions can be displayed simply and in less than 5 seconds.

MQM is mounted in a convenient industrial nineteen-inch rack system, equipped with a user-friendly graphical interface and can be used in a variety of industrial settings.
